Whattup Ballerstatus readers? I'm excited to have the chance to blog on this site.
My name is Josh X-An-Tus, aka Josh X, and I'm a singer/songwriter/musician. I am an independent artist and have a record out now called "Let's Ride" featuring Jadakiss. You can check out the video in the Ballerstatus video section. The record has been getting love on radio stations like Hot 97 and Power 105 in New York and that's just the beginning! I'm on my grind trying to make it happen. I've been hitting the hottest parties in New York to politick with DJs, producers and artists. I'll give you the lowdown on that grind in a later blog entry.
A little background on myself: I'm 22 years old. I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens. New York is where I'm from and it's what I rep. The last big singer that came out of New York is Alicia Keys. I'm the next artist that's coming.
Like Alicia, the piano is my instrument. I've been playing since I was a shorty! Moms was serious and had me practicing day and night. I'm classically trained, so I can play everything from Mozart to Outkast. I have a lot of this skill in my upcoming album. You'll see and hear my musicianship in my new single "In Luv With 2". Singing and playing is what I love to do. In my live sets, I have a band that plays with me. Not every 22-year-old has to pop lock and drop it!
The reason my fans should care about what I'm doing because I'm speaking directly to them with my music; everything I'm going through, everything they're going through. These real life situations are going to be on this album. I'm bringing music with meaning back to the game. I'm a real person that's going through real life. I turn my happiness, sadness, and heartbreak into music. To know my music is to know Josh X. That's why the name of my upcoming album is Can I Live. I want people to realize that music is my life and my life is music.
So there you have it. Make sure you check out my video and hit up my Imeem page to hear more. Next week I'll speak more on the making of my independent album: the recording process, making the first video, and more. Stay Tuned!!
