Game Review: NBA 2K11

The folks over at 2K Sports one-upped themselves this year, with latest installment of the NBA 2K franchise. And, they drained a half-court three at the buzzer to win the game, because this is by far the best basketball simulation to date, and possibly one of the best sports titles for a video game console … ever, or at least until something comes in the future. For NBA 2K11, the emphasis is on Michael Jordan, who has been absent from basketball games for years…

Game Review: Mafia II

After nearly 8 years in between title, 2K Games returns with Mafia II, the sequel to the popular mobster title from 2002, titled Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. While the game definitely stands out among other mob titles, it’s not an open world game like the GTA franchise that some are thinking. It does take place in an open world environment, but is a linear narrative that guides players from one chapter to the next, in the shoes of mob soldier Vito Scaletta and his rise in the Falcone Crime Family…

Sega was nice enough to bless with an advanced copy of their newest title, Aliens vs. Predator, and while it’s definitely an entertaining at first, there are several elements that keep the new game from staying in our game rotation. Game Review: Bayonetta

SEGA was nice enough to send us over a copy of its latest action title, Bayonetta, and whoa. We played over the new game for the past week, which has its similarities to Devil May Cry (because it’s made by the same creator), and we were thoroughly impressed with its fluid-ness, and the overall fun it gave us. As always, we did our usual review to let you guys know the deal, and whether or not you should pick it up…

Game Review: NBA 2K10

EA Sports has held the crown for most sports titles in the gaming world, but one they haven’t been able to touch as of recent years is the NBA. That’s because 2K Sports has been holding it down since it introduced its NBA 2K series. Today, they’re in their 10th year, and still holding it down. The series has improved from year to year, and 2K10 continues that trend.

Game Review: Street Fighter IV

“Street Fighter II” is without a doubt, an arcade classic in the fighting genre. However, by the time Capcom came back with its follow-up, “Street Fighter III” didn’t quite match up with the excitement of its predecessor. With a brand new stable of characters in place, and years between development…
