Nike Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Air Griffey Max With Sweetest Swing Collection

Across the Foot Locker banner of stores, Nike celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Air Griffey Max with the Nike x Sweetest Swing collection.

Releasing four footwear models in men’s and kid’s sizing, Nike a baseball-themed edition of the Air Max 90. It comes detailed with a reversed baseball cap graphic with the number 24 featured on the tongues and insoles. Black Swooshes outlined in Red appear on the toe box, while baseball stitching around the collar completes the design.

The Air Force 1 style comes with a white leather upper, with “24” lateral heel embroidery on the left shoe and “30” on the right with “JR” and “SR” embroidery. As an added touch, the top lining on the tongues come in mismatching blue and gold, the colors of the Seattle Mariners, where both men played.

The Air Griffey Max 1 comes in a “Freshwater”-like colorway, with a white leather upper, black leather overlays, and a teal midsole. “Swingman” branding appears on the tongue tag, while a Swingman logo is found on the heel. Additional features include a large gold Swoosh on the toe box, “The Sweetest Swing” branding on the insoles, and a gold base-shaped hang tag inscribed with the number 24.

Lastly, the Vapormax Plus features a spider theme that pays homage to one of the greatest players of all time’s famous “Spider-Man Catch” play.
