Ty Dolla $ign could be facing serious jail time after being indicted for felony cocaine possession, felony possession of THC, and misdemeanor possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, according to TMZ.
Those charges carry up to a 15 year jail sentence in Fulton County, Georgia, where Ty Dolla was arrested back in September.
Police snatched the rapper and his crew, along with Skrillex, who can be seen in in the body cam footage, out of Ty Dolla’s van and went in with drug dogs, eventually cuffing Dolla. No one besides Ty Dolla $ign was arrested.
Had the arrest happened in a state where weed is legal, Dolla $ign wouldn’t be in quite as much trouble, but even so, “Or Nah” rapper and his legal team are confident that they’ll be able to quash the matter.
A rep for Ty Dolla $ign told TMZ the rapper’s legal team was expecting the indictment to be filed, calling it “merely the next procedural step in that particular criminal justice system, and one more step closer to finally bringing this matter to a close.”
The representative also told TMZ that the cash and jewelry seized from Ty Dolla $ign during that arrest was recently returned to the rapper, adding that it was “another clear sign that this matter is coming to a close soon.”
