This story is something:
For those not familiar with these two ladies, Cuban Doll is a social media star-turned-rapper from Dallas who has accumulated 1.2 million followers. Cuban Doll released “Rat Bitch” in July 2017, gaining over 30,000 views in a few days.
Detroit rapper, Rocky Badd, A.K.A., Rocky B, began her career by releasing music on SoundCloud and is best known for the hits “Gone”, “Make it Back” and “What You Want”. Rocky B’s desire to get into music started at a very young age as her father was a respected rapper in the Detroit local scene and her mother would frequently write poetry about their lifestyle.
Cuban Doll (who was born in 1998!) and Rocky B have had some serious beef in the past, while their most recent case of animosity kicked off earlier this year.
The two rappers got into a physical altercation in January 2018. Afterwards, Rocky B released a 20-minute video in which she claims she won. Then Cuban Doll and Rocky B starting dropping diss tracks about each other.
In May, Cuban Doll was badly beaten by her (now ex) boyfriend rapper, Tadoe, and apparently Rocky B mocked Cuban over it. Cuban then took retaliation to the next level.
According to a now-deleted Instagram post, Cuban Doll set up a fake event and booked Rocky B. The Instagram post said they “walked her into an alley and abducted her, pistol whipped her and beat her. They also robbed her & took her chain. All over some rap beef. They had MEN do this to her in Cali.” Rocky B’s manager, Lando Bando, was also with her and was attacked as well. Rocky B was put in a dog cage by some Cuban Doll associates who took pictures which were published on The Shade Room Teens account on Instagram.
Rocky B confirmed she had been jumped and seemed to take it in stride, saying she “knew better anyways”.
So…is it really that serious? Mocking someone who has been through a domestic violence situation is horrible and the rage that Cuban felt is perfectly understandable, according to Complex. Cuban Doll spoke out on her Instagram, per Vibe about the incident, saying she refused to hurt in silence and stated this had happened several times before. Cuban Doll did clap back to those who she said were making fun of her and told them to imagine if it was their own mothers in her situation. It’s also perfectly understandable that beef goes with rappers like peas and carrots. However, Cuban Doll had Rocky B beaten and humiliated (which is what Cuban Doll experienced) because her feelings were hurt.
Capital Music Group agreed and dropped Cuban Doll from their label, although she doesn’t seem all that upset, saying that the deal she signed was a bad one and she was a “free agent”. Hopefully both of these ladies learn not to give someone power over them sooner rather than later.
