Conor McGregor Khabib Nurmagomedov

The moment that all UFC fans have been waiting for is finally here.

Starting with the Heavyweight division Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis, looks to bounce back after an abysmal decision win over Francis Ngannou in what many called one of the least entertaining heavyweight fights off all-time.

His opponent will be the Russian giant , 6’7 Alexander Volkov who is coming off of a 4th round knockout against one the the greatest heavyweights at all-time, Fabricio Werdum.

Prediction: Derrick Lewis 3rd round knockout.

In the co-main event we have a battle of former champions, Anthony Pettis, the former lightweight Champion, who is 3-5 in his last 8 matches and is looking to re-establish himself as one of the best in the division.

Anthony will be taking on Tony Ferguson, the number 2 ranked lightweight and recently the interim champion of the division, before having it stripped because of a knee injury.

Prediction: Tony Ferguson 2nd Round TKO

Other big names on the card include Strawweight phenomenon Michelle Waterson looking to move up in the ranks as well as Ovince Saint Preux, currently number 7 in the light heavyweight rankings.

We turn our attention to the main event of the evening Conor McGregor, the first ever 2-division champion who is set to battle it out for the Lightweight Championship of the world against the current Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor has not fought in the Octagon for the last 2 years, although he did fight Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match on August 26th of last year. He is determined to win back the title he never lost, with the majority of UFC fans and Ireland in McGregor’s corner.

However Khabib Nurmagomedov is an opponent like none other he’s ever faced before, with a 26-0 unblemished record.

The Russian super-star is looking to cement his own legacy, by remarking, “ I want to re-arrange his face”.

Prediction: Khabib Nurmagomedov 4th Round TKO

Regardless of the outcome, UFC 229 will likely go down as one of the greatest events in UFC history.
