PUMA has teamed up with renowned brand Roland, known for its electronic musical instruments, for two renditions of the RS sneaker.
The pack consists of the R-100 Roland and the RS-0 Roland. The RS-100 follows the story of reinvention, with inspiration by the histories of each brand; and the RS-0 completely reboots the R-System.
The RS-100 Roland sports a color scheme inspired by the 80’s retro hues found on a Roland TR-808 drum machine. The upper features a vibrant orange suede Formstrip with white reflective edges, as well as combination of white-red pebble leather, black ripstop nylon panels and yellow suede. Branding from both PUMA and Roland are found on the tongue label, footbed and the anodized metal hangtag, while “Rhythm Composer TR-808, Computer Composer” is printed on the heel.
The RS-0 Roland, also inspired by the TR-808 drum machine, features premium leather black upper, micro perf vents, 6mm flat, reflective laces, reflective midsole details and signature TR-808 colors – red, orange and yellow, on the Formstrip. Notes like “Rhythm Composer” and “Bass Drum” accent the midsole while the orange hue continues to the translucent rubber outsole.
Both the PUMA RS-0 and RS-100 Roland drop worldwide on Aug. 8th, internationally known as #808DAY.
