After being painted as a crazy ex-girlfriend who follows around NBA star Ben Simmons following their breakup, Tinashe is speaking out.
The singer took to social media this week, posting an open letter that addresses her relationship with the NBA baller, while denying claims that she is stalking him and his new girlfriend Kendall Jenner.
“Listen, I usually never comment on things that are completely untrue and ridiculous, but this narrative has to end,” Tinashe writes. “I’m not a character in some dumb storyline this is MY REAL LIFE.”
She does admit to being heart broken, saying: “The fact is, I was in love, and I got hurt.” But, adds that the way she’s been portrayed in the media, is completely wrong.
Following their split, Tinashe was spotted at the same Los Angeles night spots as Simmons on more than one ocassion. She was at West Hollywood hotspot Delilah when Simmons and Jenner were there, and told TMZ cameras outside that he was texting her.
“The details of what has happened since are complicated to say the least, but I’ve never lied,” said Tinashe. “And of course I’m not a stalker lol.”
“I’m sensitive as hell and have emotions just like everyone else and I suck at most of this Hollywood sh*t,” she added. “I’m not here to ‘prove’ anything to anyone at the end of the day I know my purpose is to try to be my best self to bring positivity into the world.”
