Former UCLA star and Sacramento Kings player Tyler Honeycutt died on Friday night (July 6), after getting into a shootout with police.
According to reports, the former ball payer barricaded himself in a Sherman Oaks residence on Friday. When police arrived on the scene, after his mother called to say he was acting erratically, gunfire was exchanged and he was shot and killed.
Honeycutt was 27 years old.
Honeycutt played for the Bruins from 2009 to 2011, and eventually made it to the NBA in 2011, when he was a second-round pick by the Kings.
He played 24 games over two seasons before heading overseas to continue his professional basketball career.
