After just five seasons in the NBA, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo’s meteoric rise has led to him being named the cover athlete for NBA 2K19.
The 23-year-old NBA star unveiled the cover on Instagram, adding that he’s “honored to be the first international player featured on the cover of NBA 2K.”
During the 2017-18 season, Antetokounmpo led the Bucks to their second consecutive playoff berth and the team’s most wins since the 2009-10 season. He also recorded new career highs in points (26.9) and rebounds (10.0) per game, while adding 4.8 assists per game, the second-highest of his career. He also shot a career-best 52.9 percent from the field.
Giannis follows Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving, who was the cover athlete for last season’s edition of the game, NBA 2K18
