Mere days after news broke that LeBron James has agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, his new No. 23 jersey is already selling out.
The NBA star’s new Lakers jersey is selling out with a quickness at the official NBA store, which started pre-selling blank LeBron James jerseys with a double zero, which have already seen depleted stocks of the home, away and alternate versions, says reports.
Official LeBron Lakers merch cannot be shipped until July 6, when he officially signs with the Lakers, but the pre-orders are through the roof. Within a three-hour span, (9 p.m. to midnight EST), LeBron’s Lakers jersey on NBA’s official online store made it into the top 10 of single-day NBA jersey sales. It also surpassed James’ return to the Cleveland Cavaliers four years ago by 600%, according to a Fanatics spokesperson.
James has agreed to a four-year, $154 million contract with the Lakers; and has the NBA world going crazy.
