Here’s a first look at an upcoming installation set to be on display at this year’s Burning Man Festival.
Created by BIG Ideas — the special projects unit from architecture studio Bjarke Ingels Group — the inflatable orb is reportedly a 1:500,000 scale representation of the earth and has a diameter of over 25 meters.
The orb is reflective, meaning that it will blend into the night and also reflect the Burning Man festival beneath it.
The visual above offers a first look at the giant orb, which is nearly complete. BIG Ideas is funding the majority of the structure, but is raising $50,000 to complete it, offering perks like postcards to private tours of the orb in exchange for donations.
Head to the project’s Indiegogo page for more information.
