As expected, Drake confirmed reports that he fathered a child … through his music.
At midnight (June 29), the rapper dropped his new album Scorpion, and on it, he opens up about the son Pusha T revealed to the world on his Drake diss track “The Story of Adidon”.
On the song “March 14″, Drake raps: “Yesterday morning was crazy / I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe / That sh*t’s in stone, sealed and signed / She not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine / Sandy used to tell me all it takes was one time and all it took was one time.”
Elsewhere, he addresses his relationship with the child’s rumored mother, former adult star Sophie Brussaux. “Hopefully, by the time you hear this, me and your mother will have come around / Instead of always cuttin’ each other down / God willing, I got a good feeling / You got a good spirit / We’ll talk more when you hear this.”
Even later, Drake reveals that he has only met his son once, and that was on Christmas Day. “I only met you one time, introduced you to St. Nick / I think he must have brought you like 20 gifts,” he raps.
On the Mariah Carey-sampled “Emotionless”, Drake says he was never hiding the fact he had a son. “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world / I was hidin’ the world from my kid,” raps Drake.
According to reports, the boy is named Adonis, and was born on Drake’s birthday, Oct. 24. Drake has reportedly been financially supporting him and his baby mama.
