On the day of his actual funeral, XXXTentacion’s camp delivers the visual to his hit single “SAD!”, which has jumped to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In the clip, the late rapper attends his own funeral in the haunting clip, which he both wrote and creative directed himself.
As fans mourn his death, XXXTentacion walks up to the open casket, where his body lays. Then suddenly, his body jumps out of the casket and begins fighting with him.
From there, he meets with a dark shrouded figure, who tells him to change and spread love into the world. “The world is in need of change,” he says. “Humans must learn to love and compromise rather than destroy.”
“You have done well at battling yourself,” says the undertaker.
The clip ends with a handwritten note that alludes to his battle to change for the better. “People change, things change, and so did I,” reads one note.
“SAD!” appears on X’s latest album ?. He becomes the first artist to top the Hot 100 posthumously since The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” in 1997.
The video comes nearly two weeks after XXX was gunned down in a robbery in South Florida. He was just 20 years old.
