Following a bit of controversy over its subject matter, Rita Ora delivers the official video for her star-studded single “Girls”, featuring Cardi B, Bebe Rexha, and Charli XCX.

In the clip, the British singer is surrounded by all women in a lush garden setting. The women lounge on rugs and make out with each other, before we see Charli in all white roaming through the forest, Bebe performing in front of a mirror, and Rita in a crown of gold roses. Cardi eventually pops up as a hologram who plants a kiss on Rita’s lips.

The song was criticized by Kehlani and Hayley Kiyoko for its “tone deaf” lyrics, which prompted an apology from Rita to the LGBTQ+ community. “‘Girls” was written to represent my truth and is an accurate account of a very real and honest experience in my life,” she said. “I have had romantic relationships with women and men throughout my life and this is my personal journey. I am sorry how I expressed myself in my song has hurt anyone. I would never intentionally cause harm to other LGBTQ+ people or anyone.”

“Girls” appears on Ora’s upcoming album, her first for Warner Music.
