The heavily sought after Supreme X Louis Vuitton Malle Courrier Trunk is set to go on auction this week… and could be the most expensive item Supreme ever.
The collaboration between the streetwear giant and fashion house will hit the auction block, as part of Heritage Auctions’ June 7 Urban Art Auction.
“By far, the Malle Courrier Trunk is the elite piece from the most talked-about collaborations,” said Leon Benrimon, Director of Modern & Contemporary Art at Heritage. “Each trunk is bespoke and combines Supreme’s vibrant red and box logo with Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram.”
Released in 2017, the exterior of the Supreme x Louis Vuitton trunk is made of Gaboon wood, while the interior features a quilted cotton lining and multiple linen canvas trays. There’s also natural cowhide handles, lozine leather trimmings and golden brass lock finishing that round up the design.
The rare trunk is one of 17 Supreme releases and collaborations in the sale. Other Supreme highlights include early skate decks like 2001’s Red Chum, a collaboration with American artist and designer KAWS (est. $800-$1,200), Kermit the Frog (Yellow) from 2008, designed with photographer Terry Richardson (est. $800-$1,200) and Bruce Lee from 2013 (est. $800-$1,200).
At press time, the Supreme x Louis Vuitton Malle Courrier Trunk is currently at $60,000 USD. If you’d like to place a video, head to HA.com.
