Though she previously announced a June release, Nicki Minaj has pushed back her anticipated new album Queen.
She took to Instagram Live this week, revealing that the release date for her fourth album has been moved to Aug. 10th.
Nicki said her label wanted to keep the release for June, but she chose to push it back to get her more time to get things right. “Trust me, it’s the better choice,” she said. “I’m so excited. This album is so f*cking incredible and it’s because I can’t give ya’ll half-ass. I refuse to.”
“This is my best album. Everyone that’s heard this album has said it’s my best album,” Nicki added.

Though fans have to wait, Nicki says she plans to drop three surprises to hold them over, coming between June 11-15. This will include th album cover (shot by Mert and Marcus) and the second single. “June is still going to be the most exciting month for us in the last three years,” she promised.
So far, Nicki has dropped two Queen singles, including “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li”.
In addition to the album, she us planning a documentary and a tour in September.
