Continuing the 50th anniversary of the iconic PUMA Suede, the sportswear brand links with luxury goods maker MCM for a luxurious footwear and apparel capsule.
For the celebratory release, MCM reimagines the Suede, which pays tribute to founding days of hip hop. The Italian-made kicks boasts an upper constructed of elegant Visetos canvas, which was redeveloped specifically for the limited PUMA sneaker. On the shoe’s tongue, a jewelry-polished brass plate bears the MCM logo, along with a unique registration number — a nod to the exclusivity of MCM’s famous handbags. Each pair includes coordinated laces in two distinct styles: leather with contrasting edge-stain and fabric with metal tips. Furthermore, the packaging is elevated, with the shoes housed in a textured “canvas” shoebox stamped with lacquered MCM logos and foil details.
The MCM x PUMA Suede is available in three colorways: classic cognac, white, and red-blue multicolor.
As for the apparel portion, the collection boasts the classic PUMA T7 Track Jacket and Pants, with signature 7cm taping on the sides, which is reimagined with textured nylon panels, embroidered in the Visetos pattern. The jacket features a varsity-style patch that displays the MCM logo. Both pieces are offered in classic cognac and red-blue multicolor.
The PUMA x MCM collection drops May 24th at MCM and PUMA shops and select retailers worldwide.
