Childish Gambino is back on the charts.

After releasing his much-talked about new single, “This Is America”, the rapper-actor’s new song has officially debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart.

“This is America” initially premiered during the May 5th episode of SNL, before being released commercially. So far, it has topped the Streaming Songs chart with 65.3 million U.S. streams and Digital Song Sales chart with 78,000 downloads in its first week.

It is Gambino’s (aka Donald Glover’s) first Hot 100 chart-topper. Prior to its release, “Redbone” was his highest-charting hit at No. 12 last August.

By topping this week’s chart, the rapper finally dethrones Drake’s “Nice for What,” which topped the Hot 100 for four weeks.

Gambino signed to RCA Records earlier this year and is working on new music. It’s unclear when we will get a full-length album from the busy creative.
