With the 2018 FIFA World Cup just over a month away, brands are starting to get their sneaker collabs out on the market.
Adidas has teamed up with Japanese streetwear brands BAPE, NEIGHBORHOOD and White Mountaineering, with each putting a little remix on the brand’s Samba silhouette. Each brand gives the soccer-inspired sneaker it’s own distinct look within a drop called the “Winning Collection”.
BAPE went with a red, all suede upper with a white midsole. Also, we see the usual BAPE camo in grey along the inner lining and Three Stripes branding at the lateral side of the upper, while “A Bathing Ape” is printed along the stripe in gold foil.
NEIGHBORHOOD decided on a black leather base, designed with accenting neon green stripes, and suede overlays. The brand’s name labels the side in place of the usual “SAMBA.”
Last but not least, Mountaineering chose a grey colorway. A dark grey suede covers the shoe, while light grey stripes are seen along the site. It all sits atop a white sole unit for a perfect touch of contrast.
The Adidas “Winning” collection is set to drop on May 14, exactly one month before the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The sneaker collabs will be available exclusively in Japan, followed by additional retailers on May 30.
