Not only is J. Cole an insanely talented recording artist and record producer who spends his spare time spreading knowledge, he is also apparently a peacemaker.
At the annual JMBLYA Fest in Texas over the weekend, Cole found himself shutting down a brief “F*ck Lil Pump” chant from the crowd, despite recent disses from his teen rap rival. The chant started during a short pause in the artist’s set, but was quickly canceled after J. Cole interrupted the activity.
“Nah, don’t do that… Don’t say that,” the KOD rapper said.
Some fans in the crowd also let out a few “F*ck 6ix9ine” shouts, but were also quieted down. Afterwards, J. Cole performed “1985.”
The incident arrives on the back of comments J. Cole made to Vulture about his growing appreciation for artists like XXXTentacion, Trippie Redd and Lil Baby.
Just last month during a Smokepurpp concert, a “F*ck J. Cole” chant began, but the crowd was not encouraged to stop.
