Cardi B has $10 million at stake, but unfortunately, she’s not on the receiving end.
According to TMZ, the rapper is being sued by her ex-manager, Klenord Raphael (a.k.a. Shaft), who claims he played a significant role in developing Cardi’s career. However, once she rose to fame, he says he was kicked to the curb.
Shaft also stated he was responsible for her landing a role on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop.
However, the biggest claim of all is that his team wrote and produced Cardi’s breakout single, “Bodak Yellow”, which led to her ascend to stardom.
Shaft’s rep spoke with TMZ,saying, “Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image. While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint.”
We’re not entirely sure what else the legal complaint claims, but for $10 million, it must not be something slight.
