University Offering Scholarships to Top “Fortnite” Players

Looks like those hours of playing Fortnite could pay off.

Ashland University in Ohio has announced a new program, where they will grant scholarships to top players in Fortnite.

Ashland is among 66 colleges and universities in America offering scholarships through the National Association of Collegiate Esports since it was founded in 2016.

The Ohio University will supply 25 gaming stations, scholarships up to $4,000 and a year of tuition, room and board, all for an undergrad cost of $30,000.

Fortnite has become one of the most popular games since its release earlier this year. Awareness around the game skyrocketed after Drake jumped on a livestream with pro player Ninja, breaking Twitch’s streaming record.
