SNL favorite Leslie Jones is coming to a theater near you.

Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels locked in a first-look deal with Universal, extending his reach on NBC. And, Michaels hit the ground running, rolling out a slew of new projects, including a comedy starring Jones and Colin Jost.

According to Deadline, inย Baby Nurse, Jones will play an FBI agentย “assigned to the most humbling undercover role in the history of the FBI.”

The film will be Jones’s first leading role in a feature film, but it won’t be the only time Michaels has given her a leading position. She is completing the fourth season with the late night comedy show, and was promoted to a writer during season 39.

Besides her work on television, Jones has made a big name for herself in the social media world. Her live Twitter coverage of the Olympic Games not only made her a trending topic, but it also got the attention of the official committee. She was invited to attend meetings with athletes and “spread her enthusiasm for the games on television and online”, reports ForTheWin.com.

The Universal deal also assures SNL will have a place on the network through its 50th season.

Looks like we’ll have plenty of opportunities to get our Leslie Jones fix in the near future.
