Actor and comedian Will Ferrell was released from the hospital on Friday (April 13), after a serious car accident the night before, reports TMZ.

He was returning home to Los Angeles following a voter registration event in San Diego. According to a statement, his SUV “was struck on the freeway by another vehicle.” The vehicle rolled over and struck the center divider.

Ferrell was unharmed, but two other passengers remain hospitalized and in stable condition.

The two injured passengers include Ferrell’s long-time driver Mark Thompson and friend Carolina Barlow. In a statement released by Ferrell’s representatives at United Talent Agency say he is “staying close by as his friends are being treated.”

The actor had just appeared at a Glam up the Midterms, a Funny or Die event where he portrayed his iconic “Anchorman” character Ron Burgundy.
