Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN” Becomes His Third Platinum Album

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

Kendrick Lamar has reached another milestone, with his DAMN album surpassing a million sales and becoming his third to do so.

The critically-acclaimed project surpassed the mark this week, selling another 4,000 copies to push the total to just over 1 million.

DAMN’s platinum mark, follows Kendrick’s first two albums, good kid, m.A.A.d city (1.71 million copies) and To Pimp a Butterfly (1.05 million copies).

The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) previously certified DAMN double platinum last July, due equivalent album units, thanks to streaming numbers.

Since its release, the album has not left top 20 on the Billboard 200. At press time, it sits at No. 13, while good kid, m.A.A.d city is at No. 78.

Kendrick is also on the Bilboard 200, with the soundtrack for Marvel’s Black Panther, which he curated. It is at No. 3.
