Nike officially launched its Unlaced initiative, designed exclusively for women.
The digital platform was designed with women in mind, offering them a more customized shopping experience. According to SoleCollector, “Unlaced promises to bring women a more tailored buying experience that includes exclusive products, expanded sizing, collaborations, and more with updates occurring weekly.”
This means no more squeezing in to children sizes, guessing on men’s sizes, and begging for a more feminine design when it comes to sneakers. “This is all about inclusion, so that women can feel like they can wear different styles, such as a men’s sneaker,” said European stylist Julia Sarr-Jamois in a statement to Nike.
Along with tailored styles and sizes, Unlaced will also feature some feminine renditions of popular men’s silhouettes. In honor of Air Max Day 2018 (March 26), special models were released on the platform, exclusively for women, such as the Air Max 270, Air Max 98, and Air VaporMax.
Unlaced will also feature weekly photo diaries and how-to-wear tutorials from women known for their creative athleticism, as well a special sneaker collab that is expected to drop monthly. We can expect to see personal touches and bold colorways on each sneaker, along with some retro vibes and uptempo beats.
Here are a few peaks at the sneakers released on Unlaced.
Unlaced is only available online in the UK and US as of right now, but is expected to be in Nike stores worldwide by this summer.
