If you remember, Dipset member Juelz Santana was recently the recipient of an arrest warrant, after he fled a New Jersey airport when the TSA found a gun in his luggage.
Although the rapper turned himself in eventually, things haven’t gotten any better for the 36-year-old artist, because a judge has denied his bail request, according to NorthJersey.com.
It appears as though U.S. Magistrate Judge James B. Clark III denied Santana’s bail request in court on Monday (March 26), as he faces weapons and drug charges. The reasoning behind Clark’s decision to deny bail is reportedly based on an unsatisfactory bail package, although details of said package were unknown at press time.
In addition to being caught with a loaded gun, Juelz also had eight Oxycodone pills in his luggage, resulting in a felony charge of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance.
After pleading “not guilty” to the weapons-related charges, the Harlem native is now reportedly facing state and federal charges, “one of which must be dismissed before the other can proceed with prosecution.”
The charges could result in prison time for Juelz, since a prior felony drug conviction left him legally forbidden to carry a firearm in the first place.
According to his attorney, another court date has yet to be scheduled.
