While snowboarding season may be coming to an end in much of the Northern Hemisphere, the BallerStatus Team recently had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of a heli-boarding trip deep in the back country, near Vernon, British Columbia.
In partnership with DC Shoes, the BallerStatus team was laced with top of the line snowboards, the brand’s collaborative boots with Travis Rice, snow jackets, pants and and all the snow accessories we needed for the duration of the trip. Needless to say, DC Shoes came to the table in a big way to ensure everyone was comfortable and warm for the week-long excursion in the Canadian Mountains.
Accompanied by renowned action-sports director/filmmakers, professional big-wave surfers, technology executives and household names in the ski/snowboard space, we all found ourselves covered in more powder than most had ever seen before and descended upon untouched drops that were part of an entirely new and previously un-ridden tenure.
Kingfisher Heliskiing, with their unparalleled experience in the Monashee and Valhalla Ranges, provided the ultimate air experience with their brand-new A Star B3E helicopters. Averaging over 60 feet of powder per season and THE best fresh snow (we’re talking neck-deep powder), unlimited vertical runs and first-class guides inside their ski tenure in Central Monashee Mountain Range, down some of the most challenging and steepest terrain there is — how could the crew NOT have a blast.
Kingfisher recently expanded their land from 150,000 acres to nearly 300,000 acres — much of which was completely untouched territory and allowed the team to get first tracks and naming rights. Baller!
BC legend and heli-guide extraordinaire Matt Devlin (aka Pinto) and his staff accompanied the team throughout the course of the trip, taking them through the expansive spread, unimaginable tree lines, some of the sickest bowls and epic pillows the team had ever experienced.
A big shout out to our DC Shoes sponsor for helping make the trip so amazing! If you’re looking for gear for your own snowboarding trip, head to DCshoes.com to get fitted from head-to-toe!
