Looking to buy the new Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 1/97? Well, get your penmanship ready, because an essay is required.
Finland retailer Beamhill Helsinki announced (via Instagram) on Tuesday (March 20) that they will be releasing the sneakers later this week (on March 26), but only to those who will provide them with a loving home. They are requiring customers to write a one page essay or short story about their love for Air Max’s. I guess that’s one way to stop shoe resellers; we see what you did there.
Saturday 24th of March is the release date for Nike x Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 1/97. We are going to have limited stock in sizes US 8-11 and the price of the shoe is 175€. Due to the low quantities and the special nature of the release, we want to make sure the shoes will find a home they deserve. In other words: this time we decided to sell every pair of these shoes ONLY based on your written stories. We want you to write us an essay or short story on the subject "AIRMAX & I". The text can be in Finnish or in English and the preferred length somewhere around one page, but in the end it’s up to you. However writing only few sentences will probably not get you far. The main emphasis will be on the context more than the language or grammar. Feel free to interpret the subject as creatively as you want but please note that we are looking for stories related to the sneakers and the culture, not for a list of general reasons why you should get the shoes. Sob stories won't get you far here. NOTE ALSO THAT THE SHOES HAVE TO BE PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM OUR STORE IN HELSINKI DURING THE COMING WEEKEND BY THE WINNER PERSONALLY. So if you are not able to do that, then this is not for you. You have until 10:00 AM on Thursday 22nd of March to send us the stories. REST OF THE RULES AND THE EMAIL FOR THE STORIES CAN BE FOUND ON BEAMHILL’S FACEBOOK PAGE. #nike #airmax #seanwotherspoon #beamhill
Not just any essay will get you the shoes, though. Beamhill wants a creative story; one that will capture their attention and shows that you’re here for the culture. If your grammar and sentence structure isn’t the best, don’t worry; they just want the juicy stuff.
All essays will be accepted in both Finnish or English, BUT the shoes must be personally picked up in store by the winner. This means, that sadly, anyone in the United States probably doesn’t stand a chance.
The last chance to submit an essay is 10:00 A.M. on Thursday (March 22).
