After a video surfaced of Tory Lanez nearly coming to blows with Travis Scott, producer Southside (of 808 Mafia) is coming to Travis’ defense.
If you’re unaware of what happened, the footage shows the two rappers involved in a verbal altercation… and Tory is heard challenging Scott to a fist fight.
The internet is saying the clip dates back to over a year again, and is believed to have sparked Lanez’s 2016 tweet refuting comparisons to Scott: “I can’t sound like anybody I wrote for.”
Well, Southside went live on Instagram this week after the footage surfaced, and accused Tory of leaking the footage to boost sales of his new album, Memories Don’t Die.
“We don’t gotta do no hoe sh*t to sell records, you bitch-ass n*gga. F*ck outta here, n*gga,” the producer said on Instagram Live. “Tell that bitch-ass n*gga Tory Lanez to hit us, n*gga. We want all the smoke, all the fades. Call whoever you want to call, n*gga. We in California on the regular, you bitch-ass n*gga.”
Lanezy referenced the incident with Scott on the Memories Don’t Die cut, “Hate to Say”, rapping: “Me and Travis Scott almost fought at the Mala Luna / We both agreed shortly after that it was music / We possibly could be doing that’s bigger than tryna ruin it / So my apologies, n*gga, just forgive me for doin’ it.”
In the end of Southside’s video, he made it clear he stands by Scott. “We ride with Trav, we with Trav. Know that… I don’t care if it’s old. You still posted it.”
