After being traded to the Utah Jazz and immediately waived, former NBA MVP Derrick Rose has signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves, reports ESPN.

By signing with the T-Wolves, D-Rose reunites with coach Tom Thibodeau and former Chicago Bulls teammates Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson.

“The only thing I’m missing now is the opportunity,” Rose told reporters Thursday (March 8). “Talking to Thibs, he sounds like he’s going to give me the opportunity, so it’s all about learning the guys and fitting in at the right time.”

As far as his role, Rose says he’s not worried. “I’m not a selfish player. I’m not here for stats or anything like that,” he said. “I just want to win and help this team and franchise win.”

Rose was traded just before the deadline in February, as part of three-team deal.

After being waived, he became a free agent.

For the Cavs this season, Rose played sparingly and even left the team for two weeks with personal issues.
