Los Angeles Calif.  (March 6, 2018)—BallerStatus, LLC – the parent company of – announces famed photographer and director Estevan Oriol as its new Creative Director, as well as a partner in the company.

In his new position as Creative Director, Oriol will help lead and shape the creative vision of and its social properties, while also lending his talents of photography, producing and directing.

“I’ve been working with BallerStatus since the site launched 15 years ago,” says Oriol. “I have been a contributor and have worked closely with Jay and his team to elevate the brand and make it an extremely reputable arbiter of popular culture – especially from a lifestyle perspective.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the team as Creative Director and look forward to helping shape the future of the brand from a photo and video standpoint as well as helping oversee the direction of the BallerStatus Media Platform.”

About Estevan Oriol
Estevan Oriol is an internationally celebrated professional photographer, director and urban lifestyle entrepreneur. Beginning his career as a hip-hop club doorman turned tour manager for popular Los Angeles-based rap groups Cypress Hill and House of Pain, Estevan’s passion for photography developed while traveling the world. With an influential nudge and old camera from his father, renowned photographer Eriberto Oriol, Estevan began documenting life on the road and established a name for himself amid the emerging hip-hop scene. When he wasn’t on the road, he was busy documenting the Lowrider culture in Los Angeles.  Estevan had a Lowrider before he ever had a camera.

He has also produced shoots for internationally-acclaimed photographers such as Ellen von Unwerth for Sang Bleu and Luca Babini for GQ Italy.

In addition to shooting campaigns for companies including Cadillac, Nike and Beats by Dre and directing new media projects for My Cadillac Stories, MetroPCS, MTV and Apple, Estevan has designed album covers and/or directed music videos for artists including Eminem, Cypress Hill, Blink 182, Snoop Dogg and Xzibit.

His work has been showcased in select galleries and institutions—such as Smithsonian Center for Latino Initiatives, Mesa Contemporary Art Center, Petersen Automotive Museum and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles’ Art in the Streets exhibit—concluding with two best-selling books of his work: LA Woman, capturing the dangerous and alluring beauty of women shot in his uniquely provocative and raw style and LA Portraits, which captured the street life of Los Angeles. His photography has been featured in Complex, FHM, Juxtapoz, GQ, Vibe, Rolling Stone and other publications, with appearances on popular television shows such as, HBO’s Entourage and Last Call With Carson Daly. He was recently featured on CNN’s “Parts Unknown” with Anthony Bourdain and was proclaimed the Ansel Adams of Los Angeles by chef Roy Choi on his show Street Food, also on CNN.
