Japanese streetwear brand NEIGHBORHOOD has teamed up with Adidas for a four-piece, collaborative footwear drop.
Silhouettes included in the collaboration are the NMD_R1 Primeknit, the Chop Shop NBHD, the Gazelle Super and the I-5923 (fka the Iniki Runner). Each carries designs inspired by Japanese streetwear and “represents the past and present of Adidas”, while coming in clean black and white colorways.
After being presented with the theme of “team” and “squad”, NEIGHBORHOOD’s founder, Shinsuke Takizawa, told Sole Collector, “When I first heard this theme, I immediately came up with a style of mixing the classic and modern which the inspiration came from a real samurai squad called ‘Shinsengumi’ in the late Edo period. On top of this inspiration, I have also added the Neighborhood’s blackout image to this collection.”
The NEIGHBORHOOD x Adidas footwear drop is available now at select retailers, including Overkill, ranging from $180 – $200 USD.
