Here’s a first look at the upcoming docuseries, Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, detailing the life and death of Trayvon Martin. Debuting on Feb. 26, the 6th year anniversary of Martin’s death, the film is is produced by Jay-Z, in conjunction with the Paramount Network.

The six-part series is based on the book, Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, which was co-written by Martin’s parents, and will premiere in July.

On Feb. 26, 2012, 17-year-old Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer. The ensuing legal battle found Zimmerman not guilty of the murder, sparking nationwide outrage.

According to the synopsis, the docuseries will show how “race, politics, power, money and the American criminal justice system played” a role in the Trayvon Martin case.” The trailer itself opens with quotes stating, “He was just a kid,” “I don’t want this to be swept under the rug” and “He was standing his ground.”
