Here’s a first look at the upcoming docuseries, Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, detailing the life and death of Trayvon Martin. Debuting on Feb. 26, the 6th year anniversary of Martin’s death, the film is is produced by Jay-Z, in conjunction with the Paramount Network.

The six-part series is based on the book,¬†Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, which was co-written by Martin’s parents, and will premiere in July.

On Feb. 26, 2012, 17-year-old Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer. The ensuing legal battle found Zimmerman not guilty of the murder, sparking nationwide outrage.

According to the synopsis, the docuseries will¬†show how “race, politics, power, money and the American criminal justice system played” a role in the Trayvon Martin case.” The trailer itself opens with quotes stating, “He was just a kid,” “I don’t want this to be swept under the rug” and “He was standing his ground.”
