“Black Panther” Earns a Milestone $112M in Second Weekend

Black Panther

Black Panther had another huge weekend at the box office, bringing just over $108 million, dropping around 45% from its debut opening — the smallest second-weekend drop ever for an MCU movie.

To date, the new Marvel film has earned $400 million in the U.S. and over $704 million worldwide.

Black Panther’s second weekend haul is the second-biggest second weekend gross of all time, between Jurassic World ($106.5m) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Once it passes the $413 million mark in the U.S., it will be the third-biggest grossing solo superhero movie ever, behind only The Dark Knight Rises ($448m), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($458m), The Dark Knight ($534m) and The Avengers ($623m).
