It’s been over a decade since the release of Rush Hour 3 and although fans assumed the trilogy had been laid to rest, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan has confirmed that another one is on the way.
In a 2017 radio interview, Chan revealed that the two had been receiving scripts for Rush Hour 4 for some time now, but consistently turned them down because they didn’t like the material. However, he said they found one that peaked their interest, but wouldn’t make the fourth installment unless Tucker was onboard.
During an appearance on ESPN’s “The Plug” podcast this week, Tucker has confirmed that both he and Chan have given Rush Hour 4 the green light.
“It’s happening,” he responded after being asked about the film. “This is gonna be the rush of all rushes.”
“Jackie is ready, and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it,” Tucker added.
To date, the Rush Hour trilogy has brought in more than $850 million worldwide.
According to Chan, production of the film is due to commence this year, as announced in his interview last year.
