Every year, the NBA Slam Dunk Contest is the highlight of All-Star Weekend’s Saturday slate of events. However, it isn’t always applauded as entertaining.

One criticism we always hear is that the league’s stars do not participate like the heyday of the Dunk Contest, when Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins battled in the 1980s, Kobe Bryant in the 1990s and Vince Carter in the early 2000s.

Still, whether you’re a fan or not, you can’t deny the skill level it takes to perform these dunks.

This year, there was a lot of high-flying and unique dunks, as well as tributes to three legendary dunkers. In the end, Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell won the contest.
