Tekashi 6ix9ine stirred up some controversy ahead of his “Day 69 Tour”, when he bragged on social media that he wouldn’t have to “check in” with Los Angeles gang members when he touched down in the city.
Well, local rappers and gang members took issue with the New York rapper’s statement and ultimately said he was banned from entering the city safely.
Although two shows in Los Angeles were canceled, 6ix9ine boldly said he was coming to L.A. anyway… and would not “check in” to “make a statement”.
6ix9ine wasn’t joking either. He and his team touched down in Los Angeles on Saturday (Feb. 17) and shared videos on Instagram Stories of himself at a local mall, before hitting the streets of Hollywood later that evening.
All while he was doing this, a number of Los Angeles natives were on the hunt, trying to find 6ix9ine’s location.
First, Mexican rapper Spanky Loco immediately traveled to the Del Amo Fashion Center, quickly after 6ix9ine posted a video of himself there. Fortunately, the NYC rapper had already left.
When Tekaski 6ix9ine posted videos of himself walking around Hollywood, a slew of Crip gang members — led by Long Beach rapper Jooba Loc — traveled in a caravan to confront him. First, they hit the streets and then pulled up to 6ix9ine’s supposed hotel, where they called him out in the lobby… to no avail.
This was the story all night, as Jooba Loc took to Instagram Live to document his hunt for 6ix9ine, who eventually popped up in his IG Live comments and taunted them, saying they would “take an L” if they didn’t catch him before his left Los Angeles.
WOAH!! Will 6ix9ine land in Los Angeles and leave without an altercation?
