As a sponsor of the NBA, American Express has launched a basketball-themed installation to celebrate NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
Located about a block away from L.A. Live, we got a chance to be some of the first to check out the American Express Experience, which the company calls “a multi-sensory journey of basketball”.
The space boasts a handful of interactive rooms and installations created by digital artists. There’s the Lakers Vault, a gold-dripped bank vault filled with actual Lakers memorbilia and a gold throne, perfect for a photo opp; a room of 18 handmade Chandelier Hoops; LED-lighted Neon Backboards; and and a walkway of Exploded Floorboards.
During an advanced review, a number of VIP guests and celebrities stopped by to check out the space, including Amex ambassador Shaquille O’Neal, actors Anthony Anderson, Jerry Ferrara and Jesse Williams and TV personality Maria Menounos.
Take a sneak peek at the American Express Experience above. It is located at 1147 South Hope Street in Downtown LA, and is open to the public on Friday (Feb. 16) from 12pm – 9pm and Saturday (Feb. 17) from 10am – 9pm. To reserve your spot, head to TheBasketballExperience.com.
