Diddy recently sparked laughter and inquiries from social media, after posting a photo of three of his celebrity friends that later resurfaced with two additional people in it, prompting what is now called the “DiddyCrop”.
The photo, which initially had featured Jay-Z, French Montana, Kendrick Lamar, Nas and Fabolous was posted to Diddy’s Instagram page. However, French and Fab appeared to be removed from the image… and not just cropped out, but removed via Photoshop.

This instance marks the second photo posted by Diddy where individuals were Photoshopped. Last year, he uploaded a pic that was taken at the Met Gala, where Kendall & Kylie Jenner were removed entirely — leaving only Wiz Khalifa, the Migos, Travis Scott, Jaden Smith, and himself.
In an interview on Ellen, Diddy explained what happened to the rest of the people in the pics. “Sometimes my photography editor, he doesn’t let me know when he’s taking people out of the pictures,” he said.
He also explained the difference between the infamous “DiddyCrop” and the “DiddyShop.” Apparently, DiddyCropping is what took place when he simply cut the Jenner girls out of the photo.
An instance of DiddyShopping can be seen in the latest pic that literally vanquished French & Fabolous as though they never existed. In this case, Diddy did express the unfairness of removing the two artists. “There were people that were taken away that didn’t deserve to be taken away,” he said.
Regardless of the case, there’s a good chance this won’t be the last we see of both Diddy’s crop and shop.
