Houston-born rapper Travis Scott was recently honored in his hometown of Missouri City, when he was presented with the key to the city, reports KTRK.
The rapper received the honor from the town’s mayor Allen Owen in a ceremony hosted on Feb. 10, which has been officially recognized as Travis Scott Day.
Houston Rockets guard James Harden was also in attendance during the ceremony, standing alongside Scott and his family members on stage, as he was honored.
Scott was raised in the Missouri City suburb, which is located within the Houston-Woodland-Sugar Land metropolitan area.
“This is better than any award show I’ve ever been to,” Scott said while accepting the honor, reports KTRK. “My only job is just to inspire kids to be the best they can be, to reach their ultimate height. Everybody has a dream and everybody can do it.”
