Following the roster overhaul before the trade deadline, and ahead of their game in Boston on Sunday (Feb. 11), LeBron James said planned to test out the new Cavaliers look via NBA 2K18.

If you haven’t heard, the Cavs traded six players last week, including Isaiah Thomas and Dwyane Wade, while getting George Hill, Rodney Hill, Larry Nance Jr., and Jordan Clarkson in return.

Before Sunday’s game, reporters asked if she planned to use 2K to see how the roster works together, he said yes.

“I haven’t. But I did bring my game console, and I will get it set up in Boston, get the updated rosters, and see how it translates,” James said, with a smile. “I will get that going, for sure.”

This isn’t the first time LeBron has said this. Back in December, he said he used NBA 2K to see how Thomas would fit into the lineup just before his return from hip surgery. “I play a lot of 2K,” he explained. “Seriously, I’ve said this before. I play a lot of NBA 2K, and it’s the most realistic game, basketball game, that you can ever play. I mix and match a lot of lineup changes, things of that nature, to see how we can be really good. It’s pretty good.”

Obviously, his 2K test with Thomas didn’t exactly forewarn him about I.T.’s chemistry with the Cavs on the court. Maybe, this time around it will work better.
