With NBA All-Star Weekend 2018 almost here, Converse celebrates this year’s host: Los Angeles. They do so with the release of four different collaborations, with Babylon, Rokit, RSVP Gallery and CLOT.
Centered around three classic Converse court silhouettes — the Chuck Taylor 70, the Fastbreak, and the One Star CC — each brand chose two sneaker styles, as well as apparel pieces to make their own.
Rokit’s capsule features the Fastbreak and Chuck Taylor 70, each sporting a clean beige colorway that contrasted against the brand’s signature orange circle logo. Babylon L.A. chose the same two footwear options, using a color combination of gray and reflective silver, while adding touches of suede and velvet on the upper.
RSVP Gallery went a little brighter with their choice, using a bright yellow as the focus of their capsule.
Finally, Clot chose the One Star and Chuck 70, but got unique with their choice of materials. The One Star features a navy and grey fuzzy suede upper, a tan-colored mudguard, and an off-white midsole with a hit of black at the sole’s toe area. The shoe’s signature star motif moves from its usual side panel location to the heel tab, with a black leather finish. The Chuck 70 features a wheat-colored herringbone knit upper, black leather detailing at the heel strip and ankle collar, a classic off-white and black foxing sole unit, as well as a navy blue Converse branding for subtle hits of color.
All four Converse capsule collection drop Feb. 10 at Converse.com, Converse Santa Monica and select retailers, with footwear ranging from $110-$120 USD.
