Rap legend Big Boi is no stranger to the big screen, and will be back in theaters soon, after recently being cast in Sony’s upcoming Superfly remake, reports Spin.

The rapper will star alongside Trevor Jackson (Grown-ish), who will play the lead as Youngblood Priest; and Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton), who will act as his business partner in the role of Eddie.

Sony has not commented on the latest casting.

The cult classic, which derives from the ’70s, will be reconstructed by Director X, as the film follows a cocaine pusher deciding to leave the business, but not before securing one last deal. Alex Tse (Watchmen) is also on-board as screenplay writer.

Grammy-nominated rapper Future has been procured for the Superfly soundtrack. Joel Silver, with Steven R. Shore, Matthew Hirsch, Hal Sadoff and Aaron Ausch serve as executive producers.

Superfly is currently filming in Atlanta and is set for release June 15.
