Despite reuniting in 2014, 50 Cent has had a strained relationship with his former crew G-Unit.

While the hip-hop mogul is busy with acting and various business endeavors, music — and G-Unit — had taken a backseat in his career. In fact, on a new track, he revealed he doesn’t speak to Lloyd Banks any more.

On a track called “Crazy”, featuring newcomer PnB Rock, 50 raps: “Called my son twice, he ain’t picking up the phone / and Banks, we don’t even talk no more”.

Before G-Unit’s reunion in the summer of 2014, 50 Cent admitted his relationship with both Banks and fellow G-Unit member Tony Yayo was complicated.

“I think he wanted his independence,” he explained to MTV about their lack of communication at the time. “[Yayo and Banks are] like my little brothers, so at points I say things that make them uncomfortable. There was one point where you can even say I was a bit insensitive.”

“His father passed away and I was like, ‘All right, he passed away, but you can’t just go home and stay home,’ ” 50 recalled telling Banks.

Though they reunited after this interview, it’s unclear why they drifted apart again.

Aside from the new track, 50 Cent stars in the new action-thriller Den of Thieves, also starring Gerad Butler. It’s in theaters now.
