17 years after the release of the iconic stoner film How High, starring rappers/actors Redman and Method Man, the pair have confirmed that they are currently working on the sequel.

During a reunion show in Los Angeles recently, the two performed several of their individual hits, collaborative joints, and legendary Wu-Tang Clan songs. The chemistry between Red and Meth was evident throughout their performance, which continues with them coming together for another How High movie.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are working on a How High part 2!” Redman exclaimed during a reggae postlude at the show.

There were rumors that budgeting issues were getting in the way of making the film happen, but hopefully, Redman’s confirmation means that production is underway or will be soon.

Although critics deemed the project sloppy, gaining only a 27% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, How High received third place in Entertainment Weekly’s “Best Stoner Flix” top ten list, won the Stony Award for “Best Stoner Movie” in 2002, and has been hailed a cult classic by fans worldwide.

Released in 2001, How High is the tale of two weed smokers, Silas (Method Man) and Jamal (Redman), who have the bright idea to use a late friend’s ashes in the growing process of a new batch of pot. After smoking the special supply, they are visited by the friend’s ghost and given the answers to a test comparable to the SAT’s where they both score so high they end up getting admitted into Harvard.

Details about the sequel are currently unknown.
