Post Malone is enjoying major success with his new hit “Rockstar”, which currently sits at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. But, stirred up some controversy recently, via comments in a recent interview.

While speaking with GQ, the rapper stated that he feels like it’s been a “struggle” for him as a white rapper.

“I definitely feel like there’s a struggle being a white rapper,” Post Malone said. ā€œBut I don’t want to be a rapper. I just want to be a person that makes music. I make music that I like and I think that kicks ass, that I think the people who f*ck with me as a person and as an artist will like.ā€

ā€œIt should just be music, you know?” he later added.

His comments didn’t go over well with fans. On social media, they went after Posty.

One wrote: ā€œStop making rap music if it’s so hard for you.ā€

Another said: ā€œGo make non-hip hop, rap, R&B music and watch your career crash. No one is stopping him. Hip Hop isn’t holding Post Malone back from making ā€˜real’ music. He’s just wack.ā€
