Post Malone is enjoying major success with his new hit “Rockstar”, which currently sits at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. But, stirred up some controversy recently, via comments in a recent interview.

While speaking with GQ, the rapper stated that he feels like it’s been a “struggle” for him as a white rapper.

“I definitely feel like there’s a struggle being a white rapper,” Post Malone said. “But I don’t want to be a rapper. I just want to be a person that makes music. I make music that I like and I think that kicks ass, that I think the people who f*ck with me as a person and as an artist will like.”

“It should just be music, you know?” he later added.

His comments didn’t go over well with fans. On social media, they went after Posty.

One wrote: “Stop making rap music if it’s so hard for you.”

Another said: “Go make non-hip hop, rap, R&B music and watch your career crash. No one is stopping him. Hip Hop isn’t holding Post Malone back from making ‘real’ music. He’s just wack.”
