Whoa! 50 Cent Made Millions By Allowing Bitcoin in Album Sales

Looks like 50 Cent made a wise business move back in 2014, when he allowed fans to purchase his Animal Ambition album with bitcoin.

According to TMZ, sales of the project yeilded 700 bitcoin, totaling more than $400,000. At the time, Bitcoin was valued at around $660 each.

Apparently, 50 Cent has let the bitcoin sat in his account, untouched. So today, his cryptocurrency stash is worth somewhere between $7 million and $8.5 million.

During a Reddit Q&A around the album’s release, the hip-hop mogul explained why he chose to accept Bitcoin. “Technology is what’s changing the business gotta get with it,” he wrote. “I take money no matter if its coins or dollars.”

50 Cent isn’t the only rapper dabbling in cryptocurrency. Fetty Wap is said to have invested in various cryptocurrencies, Ghostface Killah reportedly launched his own cryptocurrency venture last year, and Nipsey Hussle invested in Follow Coin.
