Retired NBA legend Dennis Rodman was arrested in Newport Beach, Calif. over the weekend under suspicion of driving under the influence.
At around 11:00 p.m., the former NBA player was pulled over for a traffic violation. From there, he failed a field sobriety test and found to be above the legal blood alcohol content limit of .08 percent.
“Dennis is taking this seriously, and will take positive steps to address his personal issues. He appreciates the professionalism of the Newport Beach Police Department,” Rodman’s attorney stated, according to the OC Register.
Rodman was released from custody early Sunday morning (Jan. 14).
This isn’t the first run-in with police for Rodman. He was arrested for a hit-and-run back in 2016 for a car accident in Santa Ana. Due to the incident, he was placed on probation in 2017.
It is unknown when Rodman’s court date will be set.
